Sculptra®Aesthetic is a new facial injectable treatment that restores volume to the face by replacing collagen that is lost during the aging process. Collagen, a key element that provides the face with volume and shape, begins to break down at about age 30. As a result wrinkles and lines begin to appear and the face loses the fullness and contours that cause it to appear youthful.
The main component of Sculptra®Aesthetic, Poly-L-Lactic acid, is a biocompatible (not harmful to the body) ingredient which works in the deep dermis to stimulate collagen. It is effective at softening the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds (smile lines) and restoring fullness to areas that are shallow or hollow, such as the temples, the cheeks, and the area underneath the eyes. Sculptra®Aesthetic produces natural-looking results that can last up to two years.
