As a surgeon, my top priority is patient safety. I want to be able to perform a procedure uninterrupted so that I can focus exclusively on the detail that I find important to provide the best possible outcome. To do that, It’s essential that I have a surgical team around me that I can rely upon. This includes anesthesiologists who are board certified and skilled in managing patients under anesthesia. I have very skilled surgical assistants who assist me during the procedure so that I can perform the procedure in a detailed way. And then, of course, nurses in both the operating room and recovery rooms provide a safe environment to manage our patients both under anesthesia and then after anesthesia.
At ACPS (The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery), we have an incredibly skilled team. I have employees, including surgical assistants and nurses, who’ve been with me over 20 years. When you have that kind of longevity with an employee, it’s as if you don’t really have to say a word—they know exactly what to do before I even ask.
