From 115 lbs Overweight to Modeling: Elizabeth’s Story

After losing 115 pounds, Elizabeth, a registered nurse and mother of two, was disappointed by the sagging skin her achievement left behind. She underwent cosmetic plastic surgery with Dr. Patronella to remove the excess skin, a transformation that inspired an exciting new chapter in her life. This is Elizabeth’s testimonial.
“I am a registered critical care nurse at St. Joseph’s hospital. I have two beautiful children who are 16 and 10. Three years ago I began my journey to a healthier me, I was overweight, unhealthy, and undernourished. I knew if I didn’t make better choices that I would end up like my patients in the ICU, it was only a matter of time of making bad choices.
Like most people, I was clueless where to begin grasping at any fad out there, wanting the quick fix. It wasn’t till I stopped making excuses and decided to get real that I lost 115lbs. I lost the weight through healthy eating and exercise. It isn’t a sprint or a diet, but a choice that from this day forward I would make better choices. There is no magic pill and it takes time, consistency, and will power, but pound by pound I finally got there. Each day is still a struggle to make healthy choices and as I like to put it, I battle with my inner fat girl everyday. I also like to say that having more good days than bad days is the key, because we are human and life has a tendency to get in our way.
After losing the weight I was left with sagging skin, a constant reminder of where I was and the person that I lost literally. After all my hard work, I still was haunted by the past, so I began considering plastic surgery. This wasn’t an easy decision and not one I took lightly as I approach any surgery with its risks and benefits. I researched different surgeons and procedures for a year prior to this decision and after asking around and doing my homework, I decided on Dr. Patronella. After one meeting in his office, I knew that this was the place for me. He was honest with me and gave me a realistic approach on what we could do.
I am now one year post op and consider Dr. Patronella and his staff like family. They were there for me every step of the way. I could not have asked for a better experience or a better result. I am so excited with my new body, my hard work finally shows. I have a six pack! What? I know….I was a size 22 or a 3XL before and now a size 6! It’s crazy and exciting and I couldn’t be more happy.
