Women are now trending toward smaller breast implants. They’re using words like, “ballerina boobs” or “sport boobs.” What that refers to is a more athletic look—one in which the breasts aren’t so large that they’re in the way or impair a woman’s ability to do certain exercises. And with our health-conscious society, this becomes even more important.
What I’m seeing a lot of now are women who come in for a consultation who have A-cup size breasts and want to be a B cup like this patient of mine featured in the video who selected 275 cc breast implants. Or they wear a B cup bra and maybe want to be a small C cup. In these cases, it doesn’t take a large implant to achieve their goals—usually it’s in the range of somewhere between 200 cc to 300 cc size implants.
Another common scenario is a woman who’s had breast implants for a long time, and she may or may not have gained a little weight and gone through menopause. The breasts can get larger as a woman gets a little older, and sagging also occurs. She feels matronly, clothes don’t fit properly anymore, and she wants smaller perkier breasts that are more compatible with exercise and the types of clothes she’s interested in wearing. So oftentimes, I’m taking the implants out, making the space a little smaller, putting a smaller implant in, and then doing a breast lift.
So these are two types of cases I’m performing more frequently, which coincides with the trend I think most plastic surgeons are seeing in the community as well. I hope that’s helpful information, and if you have any questions, feel free to call. Thank you so much.
