A “bottom out” or breast fold failure occurred on the right breast of this lady after breast augmentation. A capsular contracture (scar tightening) occurred on the left that caused the implant to appear excessively high. The corrective procedure involved repairing and elevating the right breast fold and eliminating the capsular contracture on the left. New implants were placed and positioned higher on the right and lower on the left to improve balance, shape and symmetry.

This woman had previous augmentation with silicone gel implants placed above the muscle. She subsequently developed severe hardening of the implants with distortion of her shape following implant rupture. Corrective procedures were needed to improve her shape. Converting her implants to submuscular (under the muscle) reduces her chance of a recurrent capsular contracture. A breast lift was also needed to correct the obvious sagging.
