While having a child is a cherished and unforgettable experience for most women, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and weight fluctuations take a physical toll upon the body that leaves many women with breasts that have loss fullness and firmness, stretch marks, loose abdominal skin, and a tummy bulge that won’t budge despite diet and exercise. What is a Mommy Makeover?

As part of a plan to restore a youthful, attractive appearance to the body, Dr. Patronella frequently combines his High Definition Tummy Tuck procedure with breast augmentation surgery, breast lift surgery, and / or liposuction to improve the body’s contours—a combination of procedures that is sometimes referred to as a “Mommy Makeover." In most cases these procedures can be performed in a single surgery.

Breasts

Many women are disappointed to discover that pregnancy and breastfeeding have left their breasts smaller and deflated as a result of volume fluctuations, weakened skin elasticity, aging, and the effects of gravity. In contrast, some women are bothered by breasts that are overly large and heavy. Depending on on your concerns and goals, breast enhancement surgery can be tailored to your needs to achieve the following benefits:

Breast augmentation with Breast Implants

In a breast augmentation procedure, Dr. Patronella restores volume and a shapely appearance to the breasts through the insertion of saline or silicone gel-filled implants. He uses detailed suturing techniques to enhance the shape of the breast and to provide the breast crease with added definition. During your consultation, he will listen to your concerns and evaluate your unique anatomy in order to provide you with breast implant style and size recommendations. To help you visualize your new contour and choose the implant size that best achieves the look you desire, you will have the opportunity to try on both saline and silicone implants of varying sizes. Breast augmentation is a performed that is performed in approximately one hour on an outpatient basis. Most women are able to return to work and their normal daily activities in 3-5 days. Breast Lift & Breast Augmentation Surgery


The fluctuating breast volume changes that take place during pregnancy takes a toll on the breasts—causing them to lose firmness and shapeliness. When combined with the loss of breast volume that commonly occurs following pregnancy and breastfeeding, many women are left with breasts that have a sagging, deflated appearance. In a breast lift procedure, Dr. Patronella restores a firmer, lifted appearance to the breast through the removal of loose skin and techniques to sculpt a more lifted, shapely breast contour.


Because it is common to experience a loss of both breast firmness and volume following pregnancy and breastfeeding, many women choose to combine a breast lift with breast augmentation surgery using saline or silicone implants.  Using techniques to improve the shape, lift, and fullness of the breasts, Dr. Patronella is often able to dramatically transform the appearance of the breasts in a single operation. The procedure is performed  in about two to three hours on a outpatient basis. Most women can return to work and their normal daily activities within a week and resume exercise in one month.


Breast Reduction Surgery

While it is common to lose breast volume following pregnancy, many women are bothered by breasts that are excessively large for their frame. In addition to making it difficult to find tops that fit well, the weight of large breasts often causes a multitude of physical discomforts such as back, neck, and shoulder pain and skin irritation from excessive sweating underneath the breasts.

In a procedure, Dr. Patronella lightens and reshapes the breasts to give them an appearance that is more proportionate with the rest of the body through the removal of excess fat, tissue, and skin.  Recovery for breast reduction surgery is approximately 10 to 14 days, and most women can resume exercise in one month.


Breast reduction surgery has a high satisfaction among patients, who appreciate the balanced appearance it provides to their bodies and the greater freedom they have to engage in a physically active lifestyle.

 

Liposuction

Dr. Patronella frequently combines liposuction with a tummy tuck procedure in order to accentuate the waist and restore more attractive contour lines to the body. With liposuction, Dr. Patronella focuses on shaping more ideal contours rather than simply removing fat for the sake of size reduction alone. How and where the fat is removed is of prime importance, as the over-aggressive arbitrary removal of fat can lead to an unbalanced look and irregular contours.


While numerous methods of liposuction are available today, there is no scientific evidence that one method is superior to another in terms of safety, recovery, or results. The skill and experience of the surgeon, and the application of the technique are of far more importance than the liposuction method that is used will ultimately determine the optimal surgical result for any technology that is used.

To complement the youthful appearance of their waist and abdomen, many patients request additional liposuction to improve other areas of the body that are resistant to reshaping through diet and exercise.
