Hair Reduction

Although there is not a method of hair removal that is completely permanent, laser technology (unlike electrolysis in which each hair follicle is treated with a needle) scans each area of skin to be treated and uses a cooling gel to protect your skin. The hairs that are being treated with lasers should be at least stubble length for satisfactory results.

The amount and length of treatments depends on factors such as hair and skin color; recent tanning or sunburn; use of certain medications and which area is being treated. You may experience temporary redness in the treated area after the laser procedure, but most patients' normal activities are not interrupted. Dr. Patronella advises that you avoid sun exposure for a few days after treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation of the treated areas.
