Fat Grafting

Fat grafting restores suppleness and smoothness to the skin through the use of fat which comes from the patient’s own body. Fat is typically liposuctioned from the inner thighs or abdomen, separated from other blood components such as plasma, and then injected into wrinkles or areas of the face where volume is desired, such as the lips or cheeks.

Though fat grafting works in a similar fashion as cosmetic fillers, many individuals prefer to cosmetically enhance their features with fat that comes from their own bodies, ensuring no risk of an allergic reaction, though that risk is relatively small with fillers. Fat graft survival is variable between individuals; it can last for months and even years, for some.
