Body Confidence. Self Confidence.
Body Lift Surgery to Transform Your Form
Body lift surgery restores more lifted, smooth, and proportionate contour lines to the body through advanced reshaping techniques and the removal of loose skin and excess fat. The procedure is often the final body reshaping step for individuals who have experienced major weight loss and are left with stretch marks and folds of excessive skin. It is also commonly undertaken by women who desire to correct the effects of pregnancy upon their bodies, and by those who are within a normal weight range who desire to improve their shape.
Body Lift Surgery--The Components of a Comprehensive Plan
Dr. Patronella utilizes a variety of innovative techniques to address each body area individually as part of a complete plan to restore the body's overall form.
Lower Body Lift A lower body lift restores the shapeliness and tone of the waist, hips, buttocks, and outer thighs through skin and deep tissue tightening. This procedure is often performed in conjunction with an
abdominoplasty to create a balanced and smooth lower body.
Buttocks Recontouring Moderate weight loss often leads to volume loss in the buttocks that creates an unattractive flattened appearance. To enhance the feminine body form, the fat which is removed in the contouring process is purified and grafted into the buttocks to give them a fuller, more lifted profile.
Inner Thigh Lift Though an outer thigh lift is incorporated into a lower body lift, and inner thigh lift is performed separately to lift and tighten sagging skin in this area.
Arm Lift Major weight loss often leaves the arms with hanging skin. Removal of this excess skin with carefully planned incisions allows patients to wear short sleeves again without being self conscious, permitting them to engage in a more active lifestyle.
Dr. Patronella works closely with his patients to evaluate their options and discuss each component of total body restoration so that a comprehensive plan to achieve and maintain goals can be carefully developed.
Body Lift Surgery and Recovery
Body lift surgery can last from one to several hours based upon the number of procedures which are performed. Recovery typically ranges from one to four weeks depending on the complexity and number of procedures performed, and the patient’s physical condition. Surgical drains may be put in place at incision sites to prevent an accumulation of fluids. In addition, compression garments may be worn to diminish swelling and speed the healing process. Dr. Patronella encourages his patients to have a firm commitment to healthy lifestyle changes in order to maintain the changes that have been accomplished through surgery.
