In addition to being recognized as one of the nation's leading plastic surgery providers in a Goldline Research study published in Forbes Magazine, he has been consistently selected by his peers as one of Houston's top plastic surgeons in polls conducted by H Magazine and Health and Fitness Sports Magazine. His development and refinement of advanced techniques for body contouring, facial rejuvenation, and aesthetic breast surgery have led to speaking invitations to some of the most prestigious plastic surgery organizations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Patronella is nationally respected for his expertise in body contouring and breast enhancement procedures. In 2007, he was invited by Allergan Medical, a worldwide leader in medical product development, to become a charter member of the Board of Advisors for NOVO, The National Council of Leaders in Breast Aesthetics. And Ethicon, Inc. invited him to join the national board of advisors for Shaping Futures, a group which was charged with the mission to develop safety and procedural recommendations related to body contouring surgery for weight loss patients.
Dr. Patronella received his medical doctor degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston, Texas. Following his internship and surgical residency at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, he completed his plastic surgery fellowship at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas. He is board certified by The American Board of Plastic Surgery, and holds the prestigious honor of being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons.
Award-Winning Safety Innovator
As a founder of ACPS--The SurgiCentre, a private AAAASF-certified operating room licensed by the Texas Department of Health, Dr. Patronella developed and mandated strict safety guidelines for the SurgiCentre. In addition he implemented patient care guidelines that are a reflection of his commitment to providing patients with specialized service, excellence in surgical techniques, and comprehensive care. In recognition of his contributions and research related to patient safety, The Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons honored him with the "Best Plastic Surgery Presentation Award" of 2006 at its annual meeting for his work on preventing deep vein thrombosis in surgery patients. In addition, the distinguished Aesthetic Surgery Journal, a peer-reviewed international journal of the the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, recognized his article on thromboembolism as the "Best Aesthetic Surgery Journal Article of 2008."
